Ilulissat, Sermersooq, Grenland
This is definitely the dive of your life and not to be missed if you are a passionate diver! Experience the most impressive icebergs of the Arctic hemisphere with the view from under the sea! The adventure starts from Ilulissat, where we embark on a four passengers boat with our ice diving guide and his experienced skipper to find the best spots to dive in Disko Bay. Then we start our unique experience diving around and under these incredible colorful icebergs, which have just calved out of the picturesque Icefjord. Disko Bay will make you speechless by the beauty it has to offer under and over the sea. Huge underwater iceberg formations and a lively underwater wildlife compete with the stunning fjord and mountain sceneries and will keep you camptivated from the first to the last minute of the trip. Between the dives we will sail around the bay and have an endless panoramic view. This scenery is the perfect setting for reminiscing about your mind-blowing impressions of the hidden world of Disko Bay.
Day 1: Sailing from Ilulissat in Disko Bay / 1st dive
Meeting with your guide in Ilulissat in the morning. The meeting point and meeting time will be given in the travel document. We start our trip from Ilulissat, the “town of the icebergs” perfectly located at the entrance of the famous icefjord. Our professional skipper will find for us the right spot to do our first dive in Disko bay. It will be an extraordinary experience to dive under the icebergs of the Arctic atmosphere. Our guide is a dive specialist in this destination and will choose for you the perfect icebergs to have a safe dive near and under these impressive giant blocks of ice. After the dive, we will continue our sailing trip in this incredible arctic landscape to find the right spot for our first anchorage on board.
Day 2 & 3: Sailing and iceberg dives in Disko Bay
Be prepared for an experience of a lifetime! During these 2 days we will have time to improvise: Visit abandoned settlements, small villages, make short hikes and dive where no one has ever dived before. Ilulissat is situated right next to the most ice producing glacier in the Arctic – a remarkable UNESCO's World Heritages site. Each day 20 million tons of ice fall into the fjord - the perfect place for our iceberg diving mission. We will spend the night again on board.
Day 4: Sailing in Disko Bay / last dive / Ilulissat
In the morning we will find a nice spot for our last dive in Disko bay. Thereafter we return to Ilulissat with incredible memories of ice formations from under and above the sea.
